2022-3 MPSC0001 INDUCTION TRAINING FOR THE BELIZE PUBLIC SERVICE

Course Description:

The Ministry of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform and Religious Affairs (MPSCPR&RA) is committed to welcoming and supporting new employees into the Belize Public Service. This training will help participants understand their role in the public service and prepare each person for success in his/her career.

The Belize Public Service Induction Training provides guiding principles and relevant information for the introduction of new public officers into the Belize Public Service. This training contains information on governmental departments, government functions, public service regulations, monitoring, and evaluation, among others. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to adhere to regulations and the conditions of service governing public officers. 

Upon completing this training participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the various documents that contain rules, regulations, and standing operating procedures that govern employment within the Belize Public Service.
  2. Recognize the steps in the Induction Process from the Onboarding Handbook.
  3. Visualize and explain the Belize Public Service’s governance structure.
  4. Determine the Ministry of the Public Service’s (MPS’) structure and unit description.
  5. Identify situations where the Belize Public Service policies are applicable.
  6. Describe the appropriate actions to take in response to conditions of services.
  7. Explain the difference between gender and sex. 
  8. Promote gender mainstreaming in the workplace. 
  9. Demonstrate the importance of gender awareness in the workplace.
