This course provides teachers of children at the pre-primary and lower primary levels with the skills to teach reading and language arts through print-rich environments. It examines teaching methods for Language Arts and emphasizes literature enjoyment to enhance language development in young children. Students in this course will learn how to select and use appropriate children's literature to support literacy and teaching reading, writing, and oral communication. Effective reading, writing, and oral communication strategies will be covered within the context of the early childhood classroom.
