2020-1 BMLS4101O APPLIED CLINICAL IMMUNOHEMATOLOGY II
This course is the second part of a two-part course. It covers in depth the principles of blood transfusion including blood grouping, compatibility tests, and component selection processes. Quality assurance in the blood bank quality control standards during transfusion testing are covered extensively. Topics include: pre-transfusion testing such as antibody screening, compatibility testing such as cross-matching, antibody identification, antigen phenotyping, transfusion reactions, auto-immune hemolytic anemias, hemolytic disease of the new born, component and derivatives, component therapy.
