2020-1 BAGR3362O HISTORY OF AGRICULTURE ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT IN BELIZE
The course uses historical information 0n Agriculture Enterprise Development (AED) in Belize to identify factors which have contributed to both successes and failures in domestic and export-oriented enterprises. It focuses on the development process in relation to the value chain, infrastructure, standards, quality control, and sustainability in response to changing market requirements. The impacts of AED on the environment and socio-economic development paths of participating and satellite communities are also examined. The lessons learned from our history of AED and the management of our resources are used to identify and plan potential new agriculture enterprises for future development.
