2020-2 SWRK2252 SOCIAL WORK ETHICS AND CRITICAL THINKING

This course examines the moral fabric of the human condition, the exploration of self-questioning, and helps students to develop their critical thinking skills in the context of social work practice.
The ethics of the social work profession are integrated and applied to actual cases. Codes of Ethics considered for practice include; The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW). Additionally, students consider their personal ethics and values, guidelines for ethical decision making; privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent. Concepts discussed include but not limited to equality, inequality, and limited resources, Civil Liberties and Justice and the UN declaration of human rights.
