This course introduces the fundamentals of molecular biology and explores the use of molecular techniques for the diagnosis of diseases. Topics includes: nucleic acid structure and methods, information transfer and regulation; genetic disorders and infectious diseases; DNA extraction and quantization; restriction enzyme digestion; polymerase chain and agarose gel electrophoresis.
