2020-2 AAGR1232 INTRODUCTION TO SOILS
Provides the students with an introduction to soil, its properties, both chemical and physical, and its behaviour. It examines the fundamental properties of soil that include texture, structure, and isomorphic substitutions which give rise to charge exchange capacities. Applied aspects such as soil water definitions and mass and volume relationships as they relate to soil water computations and management are dealt with as building blocks to specialized topics of soil, soil and water management, fertilizer application and nutrient uptake, soil consistency, and tillage.
