2020-2 BIOL1332 REPRODUCTION, GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
This is a 3 credit course designed to provide a comprehensive knowledge in reproduction of plants and animals. It also covers the basic concepts of growth and development in a wide range of organisms including plants, sea urchins, frogs, birds and humans. The development of the embryo between fertilization and birth is studied in detail. The basic concepts of cleavage, gastrulation, germ layer formation, organogenesis, and pattern formation are discussed. In addition, metamorphosis & the hormonal control of growth and development processes will also be discussed in this course.
