2020-2 EENG2151 LANGUAGE METHODS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS I
This course seeks to develop student–teachers’ understanding of how children learn the language and its implication on how we should teach Language Arts within the context of a multilingual society. Teachers will explore a wide range of strategies to develop listening, speaking, reading, writing, and viewing skills to be able to utilize the interrelatedness of these processes. It also seeks to bring about an awareness of the language skills, techniques, and devices used in the processes of language teaching, and they will apply the techniques and strategies they have learned in a primary school classroom. The student-teachers will demonstrate their understanding and mastery of the skills and techniques necessary to teach Language Arts effectively. The ESL approach will be used so that all aspects of Language Arts will be enhanced in the Belizean Primary classroom.
