This course focuses on normal changes and medical/surgical problems that occur in the young adult, mature adult, and elderly within a family and community. Integrated throughout the course are the concepts of holism, caring, and basic needs, as well as the principles of prevention, promotion, and maintenance of health. The aetiology, clinical manifestations, pathophysiology, diagnostic tests, relevant medical treatment, and nursing interventions are delivered within the framework of the nursing process for selected medical/surgical conditions.
