This course provides students with an overview of health education/promotion and the role it plays in addressing public health matters such as Nutrition, Mental Health, Sexual Health and Managing Stress. Using health education/promotion as the major perspective from which to study diseases such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Mental Health, HIV/AIDS and matters conditions that are of public health concern, this course prepares students to recognize common risk factors for these diseases and condition and discusses the role of health education/promotion as a tool for preventative medicine.
