This course examines the evolution of literature meant for children, its genres, and cultural and educational impacts, including stereotypes. Student teachers will be expected to develop and execute lesson plans using children's literature across the curriculum-, with an emphasis on read aloud technique. For the final project, students will write and illustrate portions of a children's book to be published as a class project.
