This course defines project and project management. It discusses the differences between portfolio, program and project management. It also discusses various types of projects along with aspects of preparation and analysis. The project cycle and its components follows with limitations to agricultural project analysis. The project logframe will also be discussed in detail.
Project objectives, with various cost and benefits including primary, secondary and both tangible and intangible are dealt with. Guidelines for project preparation are presented and will be discussed in details.
The class will practice the development of risk management registers with mitigation plans for a variety of agriculture projects. Developing a realistic project concept for possible funding through a local development bank is given as a term project.
