The course provides a broad study on the structure, function and classification of lower plants. Students are exposed to the theoretical components of Lower Plants namely members of the Cyanobacteria, green algae, red algae, diatoms and brown algae, liverworts, hornworts, mosses, club mosses, whisk ferns, horsetails, and ferns. This acquired knowledge is reinforced by the field activities and lab activities conducted in BIOL3302L.
