2022-2 HIST1201B POLITICAL & ECONOMIC HISTORY OF BELIZE
This course evaluates major political and economic developments in Belize from its colonial period to contemporary times. Major topics include: colonial and post-colonial economies; systems of political and economic exploitation utilized by British settlers; constitutional development; imperialism and capitalism; trade; the emergence of working class movements and political parties; government and politics since independence; and the impact of globalization on Belize.
